Carat contre Karat
Sustainability & Ethics
Ethical Luxury, by Design
At Thenetjeweler, sustainability isn't a trend — it's been woven into our practice since 1967. For over 50 years, we've believed that fine jewelry should be beautiful and responsible. Today, that commitment is expressed through every lab-grown diamond we set and every piece crafted in our Montreal atelier.
Lab-Grown Diamonds: Zero Mining Impact
Lab-grown diamonds are physically, chemically, and optically identical to mined diamonds — the only difference is how they're born. Created in controlled environments using advanced technology, they require no open-pit mining, no habitat destruction, and no displacement of communities.
- Zero mining footprint — No earth is moved, no ecosystems disturbed
- Significantly lower carbon footprint — Lab-grown production uses a fraction of the energy and water of traditional mining
- 100% conflict-free — Every diamond we use is traceable and ethically sourced, with no ties to conflict regions
- Certified & transparent — Each stone comes with full grading documentation so you know exactly what you're wearing
Lab-grown diamonds aren't a compromise — they're the future of fine jewelry.
Montreal Craftsmanship: Made Close to Home
Every piece in our collection is designed and crafted in Montreal, Québec. Local production means:
- Reduced shipping emissions — Your jewelry travels far less distance from bench to box
- Support for local artisans — We employ skilled craftspeople in our community, preserving traditional goldsmithing techniques
- Tighter quality control — In-house manufacturing means we oversee every step, from stone setting to final polish
- A smaller supply chain — Fewer hands, fewer miles, less waste
When you choose Thenetjeweler, you're supporting a local business with a global conscience.
Conflict-Free, Always
We have never sourced mined diamonds from conflict regions, and we never will. Our shift to lab-grown diamonds takes this commitment further — eliminating the risk. Every stone is selected with full traceability and ethical sourcing documentation.
Our Promise
Since our founding in 1967, responsible jewelry has been our standard — not our marketing. We're proud to offer pieces that you can wear with pride, knowing they reflect your values as much as your style.
